Scene 1: Contest announcement and sign ups. The prize is a record contract with Marley Records and a cash prize. Interviews with the contestants. They express what winning this contest will mean to them and the symolism of the microphone means to them. Interaction between Rob Marley and contestant. Rivalry between the bands.
Scene 2: Rob and wife are fighting, wife suspects that he's cheating and she is furious.She's tired of his affair and being made to look like a fool. She tells Rob that all she has to do is find out who the girl is and she will have grounds for a divorce, and will be entitled to everything beacuse of the infidelity clause in their prenup. Rival band witnesses the fight. Rob calls mistress to end the affair. He doesn't want to lose everything and doesn't have any intentions of leaving his wife. He doesn't want his wife to know the truth, he will deny everything.
Scene 3: The two best friends are at the mistress' house. She is confiding in her friend and is upset about possibly having to end the affair.
Scene 4: Day of the contest finale. The mistress is telling her friend that she doesn't feel well. They are the first performers and as the stage lights turn on she dies.
Scene 5: The detective is investigating the mysterious murder and talks to the best friend to try to figure out who might want to hurt her friend. She informs the detective of the bitter rivalry with the other band and of the affair with Rob. also tells the detinterrogating possible suspects. The decteive interrogates the rival band, then Mrs.Marley, which leads her to Rob Marley.
Scene 6: Conclusion. We find out who committed the murder and why.
Ya Youa Xiong and Zin Humanities 120 “The Battle of the Band” Script Band Name- The Ditzy Chicks Scene 3: Ya Youa is over at Zin’s house and overheard Lee Marley breaking up with mistress, Zin, over the phone. The two best friends are talking about the end of the love affair. Scene 3 and 4 Characters: “The Ditzy Girls” Band Zin: Mistress Ya Youa: Mistress’s best friend Setting: Inside Zin’s Home Dialogue: Ya Youa: (Walk up to the door step of Zin’s home, knock on the door and make your way into her house) Zin: (Talking on the phone with Lee Marley on the phone) “If you don’t tell her, then I will!” (Angrily, hang up the phone) Ya Youa: (Curious and concern facial expression) “Hey Zin, who were you talking to that ended up making you so upset?” Zin: “Thank God you’re here! Let us have a drink” (Both of us sit down) Ya Youa: “So tell me what’s wrong, honey” Zin: (Sigh…) “I can’t believe it! I just got off the phone with Lee Marley, and he said he wanted to break up with me after all time we’ve been together.” Ya Youa: “I told you he was just playing around with you, and you have to consider, he is a married man after all. Just think about the only person he would want on his deathbed… his wife or you?” Zin: “You don’t understand! I can’t help it. I’m in love! And if it wasn’t for Lee Marley, I wouldn’t be here right now.” Ya Youa: “Well, you have no choice girlfriend because he already called off the affair, for the sake of his marriage.”
Scene 4: It is now the day of the contest finale. Zin, the mistress, is telling her best friend that she doesn’t feel too good. They are the first performers and as the stage lights turn on she collapse and dies. Setting: Back stage and front stage Zin: (Walk up to Ya Youa) “Ya Youa…” Ya Youa: “Mhm… yes Zin.” (Busy fixing hair or looking pretty) Zin: “I don’t feel good. What is going on?” (Hold on to your stomach) Ya Youa: “You will be fine, honey. Perhaps, all the stress from yesterday night, made you feel tense” Zin: “I guess you’re right” Ya Youa: (Hug Zin) “Let’s do this together!” (Both of us walk up stage and hold onto the microphone) Climax: Zin collapsed on floor and no sign of life. Zin: (Collapse) Ya Youa: (Horrified expression: Hand cover mouth) “Oh my gosh!” People rushing onto the stage and that’s when the investigation begin.
