See you on Thursday!
In the time of 1920's, Jessica Smith, a new teenage mom of her baby Mason found herself struggling due to the stock market crash. With the money she had left, her and her best friends Chelsea and Andrea fulfilled their dream of flying to Hawaii to attend the grand opening of Victoria's Secret. Jessica was unable to bring Mason because he was just a newborn. When Jessica and her friends got to Victoria's Secret, they found out there was a skydiving contest. The prize was a lifetime supply of bombshell bras and $10,000. She decided to enter the contest to get the money to support Mason.
ReplyDeleteLife never seemed so hard for Jessica. The look of despair and no money haunted the eyes of her and her bestfriends. Although she knew, that no matter what it took, she neeeded to sky dive off of that plane to win the money. Just last week my friend lost all her savings, and as I pay attention to my surroundings, everyone is going out of buisness! This can help me, my family and most importantly my son Mason. 17 and pregnant doesn't come at an easy price, but thinking of him makes me a better, much stronger women.
ReplyDeleteJessica, Chelsea, and Andrea were amazed upon the entrance of the brand new, very first Victoria's Secret. Everything was pink and glamorous. There were thousands of people there dressed in colorful bikinis. As the three friends walked through the gigantic crowd of dancers and champagne drinkers, there wasn't a single thing that didn't catch their eyes. From bras to lingerie,to cosmetics and perfume everything was dazzling. Jessica wanted to buy the whole store! She saw a booth in the middle of the store and was curious about what it was. Jessica found her friends and brought them to the booth with her. The title was "SKYDIVING FOR BOMBSHELL BRAS". The employee at the booth explained to the girls what it was all about. It was a skydiving contest, the fastest skydiver would be the winner. The prize was a lifetime supply of bombshell bras and $10,000. Jessica thought long and hard about whether she should sign up or not. She finally decided to do it, she needed to money to support Mason and could really use the bombshell bras to impress her boyfriend, Ryan. Chelsea and Andrea tried to talk her out of it, but Jessica was determined to win the contest for Mason. As the girls left the Grand Opening, Jessica wondered if she would eventually regret the decision she just made.
ReplyDeleteIt was time for the sky diving competition to begin. There was a big anouncement that told everyone to make their way to the beach if they wanted to watch. The anouncement also reminded the contestants to go get changed into their gear and after, proceed to the airplane where they'll head off into the air. Whe Jessica made it to the tent where everyone was getting ready, she noticed that there were nine other contestants competing for the grand prize. She started having second thoughts about the competition because beating nine people is a hard thing to do and plus, she didn't have any sky diving experience. As she started to change, she thought of Mason who was back at home. She missed him so much and wished he was there with her. She started to get scared at the thought of not being able to see him again if something were to happen to her during the competition. All of the contestants were warned about the possibility of death in the competition and as this started to scare Jessica more and more, she became emotional. With tears rolling down her face, she started taking off the sky diving gear. She wanted to quit and go back home. All she wanted to do was to be with her baby again. But before she could finish, two men came into the tent and told everyone that it was time to board the plane. Jessica realized that it was too late to drop out of the competition and as she boarded the plane, she saw her two friends holding up signs that said, "Good luck Jessica!" and "Mason loves you!" Seeing those two signs gave Jessica the strength and determination to continue and win the competition. While on the plane, the contestants found out what order they would be going in to jump out of the plane. The object of the competition was to jump out of the plane and land on the bullseye of a target that was on the ground of the beach. The person that landed closest to the bullseye would win the grand prize. As the list of names were being read off in jump off order, Jessica found out that she was going last.
ReplyDeleteThis meant that she got time to mentally prepare herself for the jump. The people before her were all women that looked to be older than her. No one talked to each other, everyone was silent and keeping to themselves. As the plane approached the target, the first contestant was called to the open door on the side of the plane. When the man told her to jump everyone looked out of the window to see how well she did. Thankfully the first woman missed the target, "one down, 8 more to go", Jessica thought to herself. The second through 8th contestand went and none of them made the bullseye and only two of them got close to the target. The person before Jessica jumped out of the plane and she realized that shortly after she'd have to jump as well. She watched anxiously out of the plane's window to watch the second to last contestant take her shot of hitting the bullseye. She went back to sit down and collect her thoughts when all of a sudden she heard the roar of the crowd from down below. She knew then that the person before her landed on the bullseye. Her heart dropped at the thought of the competition being over and her losing. She felt like a failure that she let Mason down. As tears started to fill her eyes, the pilot told her it was time for her to jump. Jessica was confused by what he said because she thought the last jumper won the competition. When she asked if the other woman won, he said that she missed the bullseye by 2 feet. As the pilot told her that she still had a chance of winning, Jessica made her way to the door of the plane. She glanced down at the earth below her and as the wind swept fast past her face, she saw the target and the bullseye where she needed to land. She took a deep breath in and as she let it go, she jumped. The jump itself only took five minutes, but to her it felt like forever. As she flew through the sky, she thought about Mason and their life back home. Once she got close she pulled the string that let out her parachute. She used the two handles on either side of the chute to help steer and control her landing. She was going so fast she felt as though the parachute wasn't even helping to slow her down. Jessica was quickly approaching the target when she pulled both of the handles down hard which helped her come to a stop. She decided to close her eyes and let fate deal with the rest. Jessica didn't see where she landed, and for a moment the crowd was silent. When she opended her eyes, the crowd started roaring and cheering her name. She looked down to see that she landed exactly on the bullseye, which meant she won the competition and got awarded the grand prize.
ReplyDeleteAfter the competition, there was a party to congratulate the contestants and more importantly Jessica for winning. However, after an hour, Jessica retired to the hotel because she was exhausted and just wanted to go home. She woke up the next morning to find her bags packed and her friends ready to go home, she was finally returning home to her family and her baby. All of them were returning with more bags than they had come with because they bought a lot at the grand opening of the first Victoria's Secret. Jessica had the most bags out of any of her friends, since she was awarded a lifetime supply of bras from winning the competition. Sitting on the plane ready to take off, Jessica looked out the window and saw the beautiful view of Hawaii. She took a deep breath and as she let it out, she knew everything from now on was going to be okay. She closed her eyes and faded off to sleep.
The end.
